Locomotion & Peace, Locomotion by Jacqueline Woodson
In Locomotion,
Lonnie uses poetry to tell the story of how he and his sister Lili came to be
in separate foster homes. In Peace, Locomotion, Lonnie continues their
story in a series of letters to Lili. Telling the stories of starting a new
school year, having a foster brother come home from the war, and trying to
balance the memories of his old life with the realities of his new life, Lonnie
lets Lili know how important she is to them even though they no longer live
together.
