Star-Crossed
Star-Crossed
by Linda Collison
When Patricia Kelly hears of her father's death, she sets
out from England for the island of Barbados, where she expects her father's
plantation to be her dowry. In order to get there, Patricia has to stowaway on
a ship. Once discovered, she agrees to help the ship's doctor in exchange for
her passage. And so begins her double life. By day she wears her
"proper" clothes and attends to the ill and injured. By night she
dons sailor's clothes and mingles with the crew. Star-Crossed tells the
story of how one strong girl must choose between the life she believes she is
to want, and the life she really wants.
