Parvana’s Journey by Deborah Ellis
In the beginning of Parvana's
Journey by Deborah Ellis, Parvana is burying her father. Without him, she
is completely alone. Still pretending to be a boy, Parvana continues her
journey to find the rest of her family. Along the way, she encounters many
obstacles as she journeys through a war-torn Afghanistan. The factual details
of the daily life of children living in a war zone are very accurate and paint
a picture of what life is like for those living under the rule of the Taliban
