Chris feels like he's always been attached to his best friend Win. In fact, he thinks they are almost like one person, Chrisandwin. The day after graduation, Chris and Win set out on their bikes to ride from West Virginia to Seattle, where Win's uncle will be waiting for them. But when they are almost to their destination, they get separated. Chris finished the journey on his own, and returns home to begin attending college in Georgia in the fall. When he finds out that Win never had an uncle in Seattle, and when Win's wealthy father sends the FBI to questions Chris about Win's location, Chris decides he may just need to retrace his steps to get the FBI off his case and find out what really happened to his buddy Win.
